America keeps sinking to new lows morally. The church can make a difference, but only if it is a Spirit-empowered force. Unfortunately, we're largely too distracted with earthly pursuits. There is very little difference today in the actions, behaviors, and pursuits of Christians, than of those who do not serve Christ. We spend too little time in prayer and make too little effort to become like Christ. Consequently, the Church is too weak to make a positive difference in other people's lives because it has its own set of problems that it struggles to overcome. Therefore, we have called our congregation to a week of fasting and prayer--a time to seek God, repent, and humble ourselves before Him. Our prayer is 'Lord change us.' If we will let Him, maybe we'll become usable to help others. God grant it!
