![]() The fingerprint of God upon a person or situation becomes the evidence of His work—this is very hard to argue against! It happened just a couple of weeks ago. Three guys were standing in our church foyer when a teenage girl walked by wearing a pair of bright yellow crocs. As one man commented on the brightness of the color, another man stated, ‘well, I’ve been colorblind since birth, so I guess I’m going to have to wait until I get to heaven to see colors.’ At that moment, he turned around and immediately saw everything in full color. Fifty-three years of color-blindness swept away by one healing touch of God. The stories of Jesus in the Bible regularly tell of His miracle-working and healing power, as well as His power to bring salvation to an individual, thereby transforming their life! Yet, most people, even though they may say that they believe God CAN do that, most don’t expect it. That could by why although a vast majority of people believe in God, but even in Carroll County, fewer than 1/3 attend church with any regularity. Oh, and regularity today is defined as once per month rather than once per week as it used to be defined—so much for God’s COMMANDMENT, “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy” Exodus 20:8 (KJV). I guess my point in all this is that I’m excited at the evidence of God in our world today! I’m excited and humbled at the way He regularly shows Himself to those who believe. And, I long for all who don’t follow or don’t believe to know of His Greatness!!! In my story of the colorblind man’s healing, we didn’t hear until the following week that one of the other men in this story was healed as well—at the same time! Pain in his feet and numbness in his thigh had become the norm for him. Furthermore, pain prevented him from lifting one of his arms more than 90 degrees. The next day at work he noticed that the numbness was gone, the foot pain was gone, and then he lifted his arm up, fully extended and began to whirl it around—healed! On the day Jesus rose from the dead, He encountered two men who knew all the information—it was foretold of his death, burial and resurrection, and that some had already testified He was now alive again! Yet, as Jesus met up with them, their faces were “downcast.” It wasn’t until the information they had heard became revelation to them personally that they truly became believers. Like I said, evidence is hard to argue with. God sent us nearly 29 years ago to Carroll County to point people to, not a religion, or to a church building, but to a risen, active, miracle-working, life-transforming Savior! You’ve heard the information. My prayer is for the transformational power of His message and the full revelation of Who He is, to affect the lives of all of you in this region of Indiana in which we make our home.
